Rare Sports Memorabilia Headlines Weiss Auction Catalog

Weiss Auctions has once again set the stage for sports memorabilia enthusiasts with its latest catalog filled to the brim with coveted items from the world of athletics. From autographed treasures by the legendary Babe Ruth to a one-of-a-kind 1952 Topps Roy Campanella card, the auction offers a treasure trove of sports history waiting to be discovered.

One of the standout pieces up for bid is the only PSA-registered autographed 1952 Topps Roy Campanella card, with bids skyrocketing close to $40,000. This rare find is sure to capture the attention of serious collectors and fans alike, eager to add such a unique piece to their prized collections.

For aficionados of the great Babe Ruth, the catalog features a variety of memorabilia, including a 1946 minor league scorecard and an array of personal photos and signatures from the iconic baseball figure. Jackie Robinson fans are not left behind, with the opportunity to acquire a signed index card from 1952, adding a touch of history to their memorabilia showcase.

The auction also boasts a highly sought-after 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card graded SGC 3, presenting a valuable chance for enthusiasts to bring home a piece of baseball history. Nearly complete sets from 1952, only missing a few key cards, are also up for grabs, providing an enticing opportunity for collectors to fill gaps in their collections.

Spanning from 1956 through 1979, the auction includes a complete run of Topps sets, along with a special highlight – the 1986-87 Fleer Basketball set from “The Toledo Collection.” This collection features cards from the ’40s and ’50s, showcasing Jackie Robinson rookies, Leaf Ruth cards, and other prized memorabilia from the golden era of sports.

Pre-War card enthusiasts will find themselves delighted by the inclusion of Goudey and T206 Hall of Famers, adding a touch of vintage charm to the diverse array of items up for auction. Autograph collectors, on the other hand, will be drawn to gems like the 1937 Los Dragones team sheet signed by baseball legends Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige, and James “Cool Papa” Bell, among other rare autographed items and collections.

With over 400 lots featured in the auction catalog, online pre-bidding has already commenced, building anticipation for the live webcast finale scheduled for 10 AM Eastern time on Wednesday, March 27.
